Kindergarten: Number practice 1 -5.  Number introduction 5 - 10.

First Grade: students will practice number 0 - 20 with an online interactive game.

Second Grade: Students will practice days of the week

Third Grade: Months of the year practice and assessment.

Fourth Grade: Students will practice plural formation rules.  More than one activity.

Fifth Grade: Introduction to time.

Sixth Grade:  Los Adjetivos descriptivos: Spanish sentence structure, new vocabulary and gender and number agreement.

Seventh Grade: Practice of: ''What do you like to do'' new vocabulary

Eight Grade: No class due to retreat.

I can't believe December is upon us!!! In the following weeks we will work on all the wonderful Christmas traditions of the Spanish Culture.

We will begin our Day of the Day Celebration this week, students will learn about the Spanish Holiday ''El Día de Los Muertos''.  This activity will be presented the next 2 weeks depending on when each class has Spanish in their schedule.

This week we will work on the following topics:

First Grade: Los Colores

Second Grade: Number Practice 0 - 20

Third Grade: School Supplies: Mi Mochila Roja project.

Fourth Grade: Number practice up to 50.

Fifth Grade: Number practice up to 100

Sixth Grade:  Día de Los Muertos activities.

We had a wonderful week celebrating ''El Mes de la Herencia Hispana'' with some of the grades.

This week we will work on the following topics:

Kindergarten: we will review greetings with a cut and paste activity.

First Grade: students will work on: What would you do? a drawing activity related to the book ''EL Cucuy is scared Too''  celebrating Hispanic Heritage month.

Second and Third Grades: students will finish writing their own and unique name, activity based on the book ''Alma and how she got her name'' celebrating Hispanic Heritage month.

Fourth Grade: students will work illustrating their two border towns, activity based on the book ''My two border towns'' celebrating Hispanic Heritage month.

Fifth and Sixth Grade: students will finish the collaborative poster honoring Hispanic Heritage Month

Seventh Grade: Los Cognados Day 3 final activities.

Eight Grade: Los Cognados Day 4 final activities.

I am happy to share with you some of the awesome activities my students will be doing this week celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month.

Some activities will take more than a week to be finish and my friends in Middle School will be working and learning about ''La Herencia Hispana'' in a week or two.

Kindergarten: Introduction to Greetings '' Los Saludos''

First Grade: I will be reading the book ''El Cucuy is Scared Too'' by Barbara Higuera.

Second and Third Grade: We will read ''Alma and How she got her Name'' by Juana Martinez.

Fourth Grade: We will read ''My two border towns" by David Bowles.

Fifth an Sixth Grade: students will work together towards the common goal of creating a poster of Hispanic - Americans.

Seventh Grade: Los Cognados Día 2, finish crossword puzzle and ''Corre en Círculos''

Eight Grade: Los Cognados Día 3, word search and ''Corre en Círculos''

Dear Saint Therese Friends,

For those who don't know me I am Señora Decker and I will be your child's Spanish Teacher for the 2022 -2023 school year.  

A quick introduction to me! This will be my sixth year at Saint Therese school,  I am a native speaker, I was born and raised in Ecuador. I taught in other Catholic Schools and currently I shared my time with Roxbury School District as a Special Education Paraprofessional.  I love what I do and I am looking forward to see all my students.

I will respond within 24 hours during the week except Wednesday and Thursday days that I work at my other school.

My students Grades 1 - 8 will need a folder for Spanish, I will provide the material they need for each class. Also please make sure Students 3th to 8th grade check my Google Classroom weekly.

I will meet with every class 40 minutes a week.

Grades K - 1 - 2:

Grades 3 - 4 - 5 - 6:

• ''LA TOMATINA'': end of the summer celebration that takes place in Spain. (This lesson will be adapted for each grade level).

Today we will start our first week of remote learning.  Let's be optimistic, we are all in this together, please, as always if there is ANYTHING I can do to make this transition easier let me know, I will be happy to help!
