Good Morning STS friends!

Welcome to week # 3 of Remote learning,  I hope today's blog finds you all doing well and that you and your families are healthy.  One thing is for sure I miss the kids!  My day is not the same without seeing their faces, playing ''pasa la bola'', singing our Spanish songs and sharing some Skittles with them.

I want to apologize to my third and forth graders, I am aware that some of you couldn't access the virtual lesson I planned.  If that happens again, try to go in abcya Spanish bingo or world toss so you can practice vocabulary.

I want to share some exciting news!! STS has created and IXL account for me to share with my students.  We will be using this great tool to reinforced our lessons by interactive questions, vivid visuals and step by step explanations, all to engage and inspire the students.

To access, you can use the same login and passwords that you have for the other subjects, Spanish will be right next to Social Studies.
Bellow you will find Spanish work for the Week of March 30 - April 3.
As always, please reach out if you have any questions, my email is:

Week at a glance for March 23 - March 27

Good morning Saint Therese Families I hope you are all feeling refreshed after the beautiful weekend and are ready to take on week # 2 of virtual learning! I have some exciting ideas and new sites planned for us this week.

First and Second Grade:

As part of the ongoing efforts to support all young Spanish learners in this crisis, some online resources like ''Calico Spanish" put together a pack of 10 days of lessons any family can use to work on some basic Spanish skills while schools are closed.

Here is the link so you can download the lesson plans and work with the students, I will adding a lesson for each grade.

  • Follow lesson plans for day 1, if possible print the flash cards
  • Watch the video Story ''Pedro El Pez conoce a la Mona'', just click on that tittle and you will be directed to the story.
  • Listen to the song ''Elefantes Grandes", same, click on the song and listen to it.
  • Complete activity worksheet on page 25 of the package.
Third Grade and Fourth Grade:

The resources in this mini - lesson plans are a great way to practice the vocabulary we have learned so far.
Go to:

  • Watch the video.
  • Click on the link Spanish Baila con you Cuerpo, and do the activities.

  • Please complete the 7 activities.

Hello Saint Therese families,

I hope this letter finds you well during these less than ideal times we are facing.  I truly miss my students already and it is only day 1 !

I wanted to reach out to you to inform you Spanish instruction will continue as best it can remotely.

Bellow you will find some of the resources by grade we will be using:

1. Middle school (6 7 and 8 grades) will use Google Classroom for communication and assignments.  For this week the students got worksheets, if they have any questions about them please don't hesitate to reach out.

2.  Second, Third and Fourth grades can use the links we use in the classroom to practice vocabulary.
Links are:
www.spanishspanish.com/colors/colors simon.html

3. I will set up some online games like Gimkit or Quizizz so kids can join and have some fun learning and practicing the language.

Please don't hesitate to reach out to me throughout this experience if you have any questions.
Have a nice day!!

Señora Decker
