Week at a glance for June 1 - June 5

Dear Saint Therese Families,

I hope you had a great weekend.  We are in the final stretch with June 12, the last week of school just around the corner.  As we typically experience during the school year, students are looking for the freedom the summer brings and disengaging from the structured school day,  under this unique situation I am looking for more realistic responses from my students.  I remain very impressed and proud of how you all handled the adversities and challenges virtual learning brought to us.

This week students will find assignments on Google Classroom but you can have an idea of how this week will look like for each class right bellow.

First to Fourth Grade:
Last week we talked about Pablo Picasso as part of our Art - Spanish connection and Cultural awareness.  This week students will practice colors vocabulary while getting to know some of Picasso's most famous paintings.

Fifth to Seventh Grade:
It will be a ''Catch up Week''.  Please make sure to work on Spanish assignments if you haven't done it yet.  I will have to submit grades no later than June 10.
Students will also find some activities just in case they are done with the assigned work and don't need to catch up.

As always please reach out if you have any questions or concerns.

Have a nice week.

Week at a Glance for May 26 - May 29

Dear Saint Therese Families,

I hope you had a nice and relaxing Memorial Day weekend, I can't believe May is almost over and we are heading to our last stretch of school remotely.

Part of the Spanish curriculum are Cultural connections, I usually assign projects about Spanish personalities, food at Spanish speaking countries, important landmarks in Spanish countries among other fun activities related to the Spanish Culture and life.  When you learn a new language, it not only involves learning its alphabet, the word arrangement and the rules of grammar, but also learning about the specific society's customs and behavior.  Also I believe the connections between subjects are very important.  Because of this, we will be making some Spanish - Art connections with students from 1st to 4th grade.

Students in 5th. and 6th. will work on concepts already learned but also making connections in grammar.

Seventh Grade will be challenge with a reading assignment about Famous people in the Spanish Community.  If students have questions about it please don't hesitate to reach out.

As always the best way to contact me is by email:

Have  a terrific week.

Week at a Glance for May 4 - 8

Dear Saint Therese Families,

I hope you enjoyed the weekend and everyone is well and healthy.

This week we will be celebrating Cinco de Mayo, an occasion to make Cultural connections and to acknowledge diversity.

For me this celebration brings bitter - sweet feelings, I wish we could be in the classroom, I normally would of planed ''Fiestas'' and had a joyful week filled with games, music and why not some chips and salsa.

Under the circumstances, I still want my students to celebrate 5 de Mayo on Taco Tuesday.   I have prepared some activities to enjoy the week.

Also I want to include FIRST, SECOND and THIRD grades on Google Classroom, please have students accept my invitation, you will find it in their emails.

As always don't hesitate to reach out if you have any questions or concerns.
My email is: wl@stthereseroxbury.org

YOU WILL FIND ACTIVITIES FOR ALL GRADES ON GOOGLE CLASSROOM.
